Concessive Clauses with "obwohl" 

Concessive clauses are subordinate clauses answering the question TROTZ WELCHEN GRUNDES? (despite which reason?). The consecutive clause gives a reason with an unexpected (illogical) consequence, a "counter-argument".
O B W O H L The verb takes the last position in the subordinate clause.
Ich hatte heute Nacht einen Albtraum, obwohl ich sonst wie ein Stein schlafe.
Obwohl ich sonst wie ein Stein schlafe, hatte ich heute Nacht einen Albtraum.
